Traveling Electrical Field Engineer Oil, Gas, and Chemical

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a traveling Electrical Field Engineer to support EPC construction projects in the oil, gas, and chemical market. This field-based role leads electrical engineering coordination while supporting safe, quality-driven project execution.

Project Details

Assignments support complex industrial projects across the United States, including oil and gas, refining, chemical, petrochemical, biofuel, and other process facilities. The project location may be in a major city or smaller community and will be assigned based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical planning, scheduling, procurement, contract administration, and progress reporting.
• Interpret drawings and specifications for craft personnel and field supervision.
• Prepare material takeoffs, quantity calculations, cost estimates, work plans, work packages, and job hazard analyses.
• Support quality control, cost and material tracking, equipment scheduling, safety administration, and owner relations.
• Coordinate with clients, designers, vendors, subcontractors, superintendents, field engineers, and craft teams.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to electrical and field engineering staff.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field.
• At least three years of electrical construction experience.
• Knowledge of construction safety, federal requirements, OSHA requirements, and the National Electrical Code.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and owner specifications and understand project scheduling and cost control.
• Microsoft Office experience required; familiarity with SureTrak, Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, Pro Log, or Primavera P6 is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently and on teams, access all areas of a construction site, and work in varied climates and conditions.
• Regular attendance, safe work practices, effective communication, and overtime or weekend availability as required.
