Traveling Equipment Superintendent - Kiewit Equipment Services

Job Summary

Kiewit Equipment Services is seeking a Traveling Equipment Superintendent to lead equipment maintenance, readiness, utilization, and cost control in support of construction projects. The role is based in Mebane, North Carolina, with frequent travel to project locations.

Project Details

The position supports Kiewit's power market and broad construction equipment fleet, coordinating maintenance and mechanical reliability across changing project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead field equipment maintenance and readiness activities for project requirements.
• Monitor equipment costs, utilization, maintenance records, and operational performance.
• Prepare equipment recap reports for senior leadership.
• Train, coach, develop, and support direct and indirect employees.
• Coordinate work among district teams, joint venture partners, and project personnel.
• Promote safe, quality-focused work and maintain records in company data systems.

Required Experience

• Degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or comparable construction-related experience.
• At least five years of experience in a mechanical-related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety requirements, engineering practices, and construction methods.
• Strong organization, time management, communication, computer, and leadership skills.
• Tunneling experience is preferred.
• Ability to travel extensively, sometimes on short notice, and work overtime or weekends as needed.
