Traveling Equipment Superintendent - Kiewit Equipment Services

Job Summary

Kiewit Equipment Services is seeking a Traveling Equipment Superintendent to lead equipment maintenance, readiness, utilization, and cost control for transportation construction projects. The role provides field leadership across changing project locations.

Project Details

This position supports Kiewit's transportation construction operations and may involve tunneling-related work. The initial project location will be determined by business needs, with travel to active project sites.

Responsibilities

• Direct equipment maintenance and readiness activities to meet project requirements.
• Monitor equipment costs, utilization, maintenance records, and operational performance.
• Prepare equipment recap reports for senior management and maintain records in company systems.
• Promote safe, quality-focused field execution and coordinate work with project personnel.
• Train, coach, develop, and retain direct and indirect reports while building team cohesion.
• Work overtime and weekends when project demands require it.

Required Experience

• At least five years of experience in a mechanical-related field.
• Degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or comparable construction-related experience.
• Knowledge of construction safety requirements, engineering methods, construction practices, and basic computer systems.
• Strong organizational, time-management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Tunneling experience is preferred.
• Ability to travel extensively, sometimes on short notice, and work at varying project locations.

Compensation and Benefits
