Traveling Field Engineer Building Group

Job Summary

Kiewit Building Group is seeking a Traveling Field Engineer to support project engineering, field operations, project controls, estimating, and coordination across assigned building projects.

Project Details

Assignments will be based at project sites in the Greater Washington, DC area and Homer City, Pennsylvania. Kiewit’s building portfolio includes offices, industrial facilities, schools, sports venues, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, manufacturing, retail, and tenant improvements.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, calculate quantities, support surveying and layout, prepare work plans, and maintain as-built information.
• Coordinate crews, subcontractors, material deliveries, schedules, field documentation, and jobsite safety activities.
• Support takeoffs, engineering calculations, submittals, purchase orders, RFIs, daily reports, cost tracking, change orders, and project records.
• Assist with bid reviews, production and cost analysis, risk assessment, and estimating deliverables.
• Work overtime and weekends when project needs require.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction-related engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• At least two years of construction experience, preferably in vertical construction.
• Working knowledge of CPM scheduling, unit labor-hour performance, material control, estimating, and subcontracts.
• Demonstrated communication, organization, planning, leadership, and people-management skills.
• Reliable attendance, safe work practices, and the ability to work productively across changing project locations and conditions.

Compensation and Benefits
