Traveling Mechanical Superintendent Oil, Gas, & Chemical (OGC)

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a senior Mechanical Superintendent to lead field operations for oil, gas, and chemical construction projects from its greater Houston base.

Project Details

Kiewit Energy delivers engineering, procurement, and construction services for refining, petrochemical, chemical, biofuel, and other process-industry facilities. The role may require relocation among project sites across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Direct Foremen, General Foremen, and craft personnel while coordinating work methods, schedules, costs, drawings, specifications, and workmanship.
• Mentor junior superintendents and manage field leadership staffing, evaluations, promotions, and development.
• Lead subcontractor and field-management coordination, client meetings, issue resolution, and project planning.
• Review job-cost updates, cash-flow projections, labor rates, and change orders.
• Develop completion and turnover plans and maintain daily project records.
• Support safe, productive work and maintain effective relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and project staff.

Required Experience

• At least 10 years of construction experience, including 5 or more years in a superintendent or field-leadership role.
• Oil, gas, and chemical construction experience is preferred.
• Strong leadership, safety, planning, negotiation, contract-administration, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, resolve field problems, learn company procedures and software, and meet deadlines.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and in varying project locations and conditions.
