Job Summary

Kiewit Water Facilities South is hiring a Field Engineer to support construction operations on water and wastewater treatment projects across the Southeast U.S. This is an entry-to-mid-level role that spans field engineering, office engineering, and estimating support.

Project Details

The district specializes in water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment plants, and desalination projects. This position is focused on work in Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi, though Kiewit operates nationally and relocation follows project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
  • Perform quantity calculations, material takeoffs, and field measurements.
  • Assist with field surveying, layout, control points, and as-built data.
  • Help prepare work plans, Job Hazard Analyses, and work packages.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, schedule work groups, and supervise field operations.
  • Maintain project records including daily reports, RFIs, photos, and correspondence.
  • Enter data into the job cost system and assist in change order preparation.
  • Support estimating by reviewing historical data, assessing risk, and completing bid takeoffs.
  • Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and safety training.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, construction management, mining, geotechnical, or a related field.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate nationally as project assignments require.
  • Previous internship experience in heavy civil or construction is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work rotating schedules, shift work, or weekends as required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
