4230 - Solar - Foreman

Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Solar Foreman to lead craft crews performing photovoltaic construction work in Cleveland, Mississippi. The foreman will direct field activities while maintaining safe, productive, and specification-compliant operations.

Project Details

The position supports ground- or roof-mounted solar photovoltaic projects, including electrical and civil installation, testing, repair, layout, and related construction activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise solar craft workers and coordinate daily crew assignments, materials, tools, equipment, and work plans.
• Lead toolbox talks, pre-job safety planning, daily safety assessments, hazard correction, and accident or near-miss reporting.
• Create and execute one-week schedules, establish crew goals, track labor and quantities, and complete accurate timecards and field reports.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, site maps, work packages, and schedules for assigned work.
• Inspect installations, enforce construction procedures and quality standards, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective action.
• Verify equipment condition and daily inspections, provide on-the-job training, and complete craft performance reviews.

Required Experience

• Previous experience as a Solar Technician with strong knowledge of photovoltaic system assembly, installation, or maintenance.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• NCCER Solar Photovoltaic Installer, NCCER Electrician, NCCER Concrete Finishing, or NCCER Carpenter certification is preferred.
• Must be at least 18, able to follow instructions, provide required tools, and complete applicable onboarding checks.
• Must be able to lift up to 52 pounds, work at heights and in confined areas, climb ladders or scaffolds, and perform strenuous outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
