Black & Veatch was founded in Kansas City in 1915 by engineers Ernest Black and Nathan Veatch, and its world headquarters has sat in Overland Park, Kansas since 2009. The firm of roughly 13,000 professionals has been 100% employee-owned since 1999 and runs more than 7,000 active projects across power generation and delivery, water and wastewater, fuels, data centers, and telecom infrastructure. Its construction arms — Black & Veatch Construction Inc. and Overland Contracting — self-perform and manage field construction on power and industrial sites worldwide.
