Beech Island - 4309 - Civil General Foreman

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Civil General Foreman in Beech Island to supervise concrete and related civil craft activities, coordinate crews, and deliver safe, efficient, specification-compliant work. This is a full-time, project-specific craft position in a non-union environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct foremen and crew members while coordinating labor, tools, materials, equipment, and daily work plans.
• Prepare short-term schedules, establish production goals, review timekeeping, and support quantity and progress reporting.
• Lead pre-job planning, toolbox meetings, safety training, incident reporting, and hazard correction, including stop-work authority when necessary.
• Inspect work for compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, quality standards, and approved construction procedures.
• Train assigned workers, communicate work scope and schedules, and provide on-the-job leadership.
• Support layout, grade verification, formwork, reinforcing steel, concrete placement, finishing, sealing, and related civil construction activities.

Required Experience

• Journeyman and supervisory experience as a carpenter, cement finisher, reinforced ironworker, or comparable civil craft professional.
• Working knowledge of concrete structure erection, auto-level and transit layout, steel-framed forms, rebar placement and tying, and concrete placement and finishing.
• Demonstrated leadership, organization, safety awareness, quality focus, and productivity management.
• Preferred NCCER credentials include Concrete Finishing, Carpenter, Reinforcing Ironwork, Rigger, Scaffolding, Fundamentals of Crew Leadership, Project Supervision, or Project Management.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb and balance on frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds, and work in confined spaces and changing weather conditions.
