Safety & Health Manager - Combined Cycle - TN

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Safety & Health Manager to lead safety and health activities for a combined-cycle power project in Harriman, Tennessee. This mid-level position manages project procedures and may supervise other safety professionals.

Project Details

The role supports construction of a combined-cycle power facility in an industrial project environment, including coordination with contractors, clients, and government officials.

Responsibilities

• Implement project safety, health, drug and alcohol, workers' compensation, and security programs.
• Conduct site inspections, employee training, incident investigations, and injury or illness reporting.
• Maintain required safety documentation and interface with clients and regulatory officials.
• Administer contractor safety programs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supervise, train, and manage Safety & Health interns and specialists.
• Provide first aid or medical support when assigned.

Required Experience

• At least five years of safety and health experience.
• Three or more years in a construction environment preferred.
• Safety and health certification and a bachelor's degree are preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is also preferred.
• Certifications or training include First Aid, CPR, drug testing, OSHA 500, OSHA 501, Safety and Health Program Administration, and OSHA 10-hour training.
• Strong report writing, communication, conflict management, computer, and client or government interface skills are preferred.
• Ability to work in construction-site conditions, climb ladders and scaffolds, and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds.
