Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Associate Registered Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role combines electrical engineering design, analysis, construction support, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Project Details

Work focuses on water and wastewater facilities and may include electrical systems for community infrastructure projects. Typical deliverables include one-line diagrams, schematics, power and lighting plans, installation details, and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare increasingly complex electrical calculations, designs, equipment recommendations, and engineering deliverables.
  • Perform energy optimization, power system coordination, arc flash hazard, and electrical reliability studies.
  • Coordinate with regional, global, internal, and external project teams.
  • Support construction inspections and help resolve electrical construction issues.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable codes, design standards, quality requirements, budgets, schedules, and company procedures.
  • Mentor entry-level professionals and interns as experience develops.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required; an ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree is preferred.
  • At least one year of related engineering experience is required.
  • Three or more years of electrical design, planning, and construction services experience in the water and wastewater industry is preferred.
  • Experience with SKM, ETAP, or comparable power system analysis software is preferred.
  • Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer-of-record requirements is required.

Compensation and Benefits

The stated compensation range is $99,945.30-$166,913.00 per year.
