Job Summary

JE Dunn’s Aptitude team is seeking a Superintendent 2 to lead complex low-voltage technology integration work in Austin. The role oversees field execution, trade partners, sequencing, safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance from project start through closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Manage low-voltage scopes, subcontractors, suppliers, staff, materials, equipment, and self-performed work.
  • Coordinate technology design, construction sequencing, pathways, conduit, back-box infrastructure, cabling, and device installation with project trades.
  • Maintain schedules, daily reports, drawings, logs, inspections, cost information, timecard approvals, and project documentation.
  • Lead communication with owners, architects, design teams, authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Drive safety, quality assurance, risk management, productivity, closeout, and pre-punch activities.
  • Support project pursuits, change negotiations, review meetings, workforce planning, and project risk and cost decisions.
  • Configure and program project software used for testing and troubleshooting.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; a construction management, engineering, or related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • At least five years of construction experience, including five years with Division 8, 23, 25, 27, or 28 systems and three years of field supervision.
  • Five or more years of project management experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, fire alarm, audiovisual, building automation, nurse call, infant security, RTLS, phone systems, and network electronics.
  • Ability to apply construction management methods, Lean practices, quality standards, budgeting, scheduling, and low-voltage testing and troubleshooting.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office, construction technology, low-voltage scopes, and Division 8/23/25/27/28 systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions, with frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and reaching.

Compensation and Benefits

The position is classified as Professional Non-Union and includes the company’s professional benefits package. Travel or relocation and non-traditional hours may be required to meet project needs.
