Job Summary
JE Dunn’s Aptitude group is seeking a Traveling Superintendent 2 to lead complex healthcare technology integration work. The role manages low-voltage scopes, trade partners, sequencing, safety, quality, and project delivery from the field.
Project Details
The position supports healthcare construction and intelligent integration scopes, including structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, fire alarm, audiovisual, building automation, nurse call, infant security, RTLS, phone systems, and network electronics. Candidates must be open to 100% travel, and project assignments may vary.
Responsibilities
- Manage project execution, scheduling, production, quality, safety, risks, and closeout activities.
- Coordinate low-voltage subcontractors, suppliers, company staff, and other project trades.
- Plan installation work, material and equipment needs, pathway infrastructure, cabling, and device installation.
- Communicate with owners, architects, design teams, authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Maintain project records, drawings, reports, cost information, schedules, logs, and inspection documentation.
- Lead safety efforts, investigate incidents, support quality assurance, and promote an inclusive field culture.
- Configure and program project-specific software for testing and troubleshooting when required.
Required Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; a construction management, engineering, or related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of construction experience and 5 years working with Division 8, 23, 25, 27, or 28 systems.
- At least 3 years of field supervision experience; project management experience is preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of low-voltage systems, construction means and methods, project processes, and Division 8/23/25/27/28 scopes.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, construction technology, Lean processes, blueprints, budgets, labor productivity, and schedule impacts.
- Ability to present effectively, collaborate with project teams, work non-traditional hours, and lift up to 50 pounds.
