Assistant Field Engineer (Hourly)

Job Summary

Holder Construction is seeking a full-time, in-person Assistant Field Engineer to support construction operations on a project in LaGrange, Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vertical and horizontal project control and support field engineering crews under Field Engineer guidance.
• Coordinate surveying, layout, and field engineering work using total stations, levels, lasers, data collectors, and tablets.
• Provide timely construction layout and verify foundations, anchor bolts, embeds, slabs, walls, and other work against drawings and specifications.
• Work with field crews, project teams, and trade partners to coordinate activities and resolve layout concerns.

Required Experience

• Previous experience leading construction layout crews.
• Ability to interpret structural, architectural, civil, and shop drawings.
• Basic AutoCAD and Bluebeam knowledge, plus familiarity with layout methods and building and site constructability.
• Working knowledge of field tools, construction math, geometry, trigonometry, and concrete quantity calculations.
• Strong communication, time management, computer, and standard business software skills.
• Reliable transportation, willingness to travel, and availability for overtime and weekend work.
• Ability to work safely outdoors, navigate uneven surfaces and heights, climb ladders or scaffolds, and handle layout equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
