Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary

Garney is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of construction and infrastructure projects in Southern California. This role partners with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to help maintain safe, efficient, and financially controlled project execution.

Project Details

Projects are based in San Diego, Temecula, Santa Barbara, and Irvine, with site visits required as project needs dictate.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, records, and contract documentation.
• Coordinate submittals, RFIs, change orders, procurement, reports, forecasts, and billing materials.
• Support field operations, subcontractor coordination, progress verification, quality, safety, environmental compliance, and risk monitoring.
• Participate in meetings, document decisions and action items, and communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline.
• One to three years of project coordination, construction, or field experience is preferred.
• Strong organization, communication, time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with scheduling software and construction documents, processes, and industry practices.
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment and interest in advancing into project management leadership.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range is $120K - $145K.
