Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary

McCarthy Building Companies is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Phoenix to support commercial construction delivery while developing project-management, cost-control, and team-leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Support project accounting, scheduling, subcontracts, purchase orders, and staff coordination.
• Assist project leadership with field administration, staff development, and communication.
• Review change requests, change orders, payment applications, and potential claims.
• Track job costs, labor performance, quantity reporting, and project financial records.
• Help lead quality-management activities, project closeout, and applicable safety and equal-employment programs.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of construction experience on relevant projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices and experience managing field staff and owner relationships.
• Willingness to relocate within the region and work collaboratively in a project environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety.
