Assistant Project Manager - National Travel (May Grad)

Job Summary

Interstates is hiring an Assistant Project Manager for a May graduate to support industrial electrical, controls, automation, instrumentation, and engineering projects. This early-career role combines field exposure, mentorship, and leadership development with a path toward Project Manager responsibilities.

Project Details

Support industrial construction projects across the United States. Assignments typically last six months to three years, with the Assistant Project Manager remaining on a project from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers, Superintendents, customers, and field crews in keeping projects on schedule.
• Learn to manage schedules, budgets, materials, RFIs, submittals, and logistics.
• Build customer and team relationships while developing project leadership skills.
• Travel and relocate to customer project sites nationwide.

Required Experience

• Expected to graduate in May with a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
• Strong communication, organization, motivation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively, learn through coaching, and work collaboratively with field teams.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $70,000-$78,000 per year.
