Assistant Trenchless Construction Project Manager

Job Summary

Municipal Pipe Tool, a Vortex Company, is seeking an Assistant Trenchless Construction Project Manager to help coordinate infrastructure work across Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The role supports project planning and execution across office and field teams.

Project Details

Support trenchless infrastructure projects across Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota, including work involving pre-bid coordination, project setup, and field execution.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare bids by reviewing documents, coordinating scopes, collecting quantities and quotes, and organizing submissions.
• Maintain project records, assist with contract administration and job setup, and track schedules, costs, milestones, and risks.
• Review invoices, change orders, and estimates; track submittals, RFIs, permits, and other project records.
• Coordinate communication and logistics among project managers, field crews, customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Support project reporting, daily records, time tracking, meetings, and improvements to project processes.

Required Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• One to three years of construction, utilities, or infrastructure experience is preferred; underground utilities, pipeline, or industrial exposure is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected; familiarity with project management or ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong organization, communication, follow-through, and ability to manage competing priorities are important.
