Beech Island Construction Manager Conventional Generation

Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a field-based Construction Manager to support simple-cycle and combined-cycle power generation projects in Beech Island, South Carolina. The role coordinates construction execution with the Site Manager and leads teams toward safe, high-quality delivery.

Project Details

Work focuses on simple-cycle and combined-cycle power projects within a construction site environment. The assignment requires travel and may involve extended shifts and physically demanding outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Direct subcontractor activities, site access, daily planning, logistics, and coordination meetings.
• Support the construction execution plan and supervise, coach, and mentor superintendents and field personnel.
• Track productivity, schedule, budget, safety, quality, and field progress, including schedule recovery efforts.
• Coordinate walkdowns, startup handoffs, punch list completion, turnover, reporting, and resolution of field issues.
• Communicate RFIs, extra work, backcharges, installation status, and payment progress to project stakeholders.
• Promote safety, quality, continuous improvement, and effective collaboration among project teams and subcontractors.

Required Experience

• At least 10 years of construction supervisory experience.
• Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant field experience may qualify.
• Experience with power generation construction, EPC execution, subcontractor management, scheduling, project controls, risk, safety, quality, and construction management systems is preferred.
• OSHA training is required.
• Ability to complete applicable background, drug-screen, and motor-vehicle-record checks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at height, climb ladders and scaffolds, and perform demanding work in variable weather and temperatures.
