Job Summary

Kiewit Power Constructors is seeking a Civil Superintendent to lead field operations for heavy civil, highway, power generation, and renewable energy construction work. The role is based in Lenexa, Kansas, with assignments determined by project needs.

Project Details

Kiewit Power Constructors delivers direct-hire construction services using a union craft workforce on major power plant and solar projects throughout North America. Relevant work includes grading, excavation, paving, bridge construction, and related civil scopes.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations, including scheduling, workforce deployment, equipment use, and subcontractor coordination.
• Maintain safe work practices under the company’s Zero Harm program and applicable regulations.
• Track progress, quality, productivity, materials, inventory, and project documentation.
• Prepare daily reports and timecards while addressing field issues and schedule risks.
• Coach and develop field personnel and maintain effective communication with project teams.
• Work overtime and weekends when project deadlines require it.

Required Experience

• High school diploma required; a construction management or related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least five years of heavy civil construction experience, including two or more years in a supervisory capacity.
• Knowledge of grading, excavation, paving, and bridge construction.
• Ability to lead crews, manage subcontractors, communicate clearly, organize work, and follow safety procedures.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work at varying project locations and conditions.
