Civil Superintendent - Simple/Combined Cycle

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Civil Superintendent to lead field execution for civil scopes on simple-cycle and combined-cycle power generation projects. This pipeline role supports projects planned for 2027 at varying locations, including Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Project Details

Work includes large-scale power generation construction with site development, earthwork, grading, concrete, foundations, underground utilities, duct banks, equipment pads, and related civil activities.

Responsibilities

• Direct civil construction activities and provide hands-on leadership to direct-hire craft teams, foremen, general foremen, and minor subcontractor supervision.
• Coordinate field execution with engineering, safety, quality, project controls, other discipline superintendents, and construction management.
• Track schedule milestones, installed quantities, productivity, costs, labor, materials, equipment, and progress reporting.
• Prepare three-week look-ahead schedules, daily work plans, and job hazard analyses.
• Review drawings, specifications, work packages, and technical requirements with field teams.
• Maintain field records, review timesheets and supplier documentation, and support punch-list completion and turnover.
• Help resolve field risks, information requests, extra work, out-of-scope items, and commercial recovery issues.

Required Experience

• At least five years of construction field leadership experience on comparable projects.
• Civil leadership experience in power generation, conventional generation, or large-scale industrial construction is preferred.
• Experience with earthwork, grading, concrete, foundations, undergrounds, duct banks, and equipment pads.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications and manage multiple work fronts.
• Experience with self-perform or direct-hire construction leadership, productivity tracking, scheduling, and field reporting.
• OSHA 10 certification and a valid driver's license required.
• Must be able to complete applicable background, drug-screen, and motor-vehicle checks.
