Job Summary

Kiewit Building Group is seeking a mid-level Construction Field Engineer to support project engineering, project controls, field operations, office engineering, and estimating activities. The position is based in Omaha and assignments may span Nebraska and nearby markets.

Kiewit Building Group delivers vertical construction and interior projects across office, industrial, education, sports, hospitality, healthcare, transportation, technology, manufacturing, retail, and special-use markets.

Responsibilities

• Interpret construction documents, calculate installed quantities, support surveying and layout, and maintain as-built information.
• Prepare work plans, job hazard analyses, safety meeting materials, daily records, RFIs, correspondence, and project reports.
• Coordinate labor tracking, material deliveries, work sequencing, subcontractor activities, and field operations.
• Perform takeoffs, engineering calculations, technical drafting, cost-system updates, change-order support, and project recordkeeping.
• Assist with purchase orders, subcontracts, bid reviews, historical cost analysis, and estimating risk assessments.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction-related engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• At least two years of construction experience, preferably in vertical construction.
• Working knowledge of CPM scheduling, unit labor-hour performance, material control, estimating, and subcontract administration.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning, organization, safety awareness, and teamwork skills.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and at varying project locations as required.
