Project Engineer

Job Summary

Support construction project delivery, beginning with field experience and progressing toward office-based estimating and project management work. The role offers a career path toward project manager.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications, assess labor and material needs, and develop estimates for bids and negotiated work.
• Assist with project scheduling, bid packages, submittal logs, look-aheads, shop drawing reviews, and layout.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, owners, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve issues and prevent delays.
• Provide engineering and contract support, inspect work for conformance with plans, and help address construction and technical problems.
• Perform field or office assignments under the direction of a superintendent or project manager.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Suggested: two years of field experience as a project engineer and exposure to hard-bid contracts.
• Knowledge of construction practices, project scheduling, contract administration, estimating software, and applicable building codes.
• OSHA 10-hour certification and a valid driver’s license meeting company motor vehicle standards.
• Ability to perform 3D scans and use a Total Station.
