Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a traveling Project Engineer I/II to support industrial construction projects, with an initial assignment in Hastings, Nebraska. The role supports project planning, procurement, execution, documentation, and closeout while reporting to the Project Manager.

Project Details

This position supports industrial construction assignments and requires travel or relocation according to project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain drawings, construction documents, project logs, and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate RFIs, submittals, inspections, compliance audits, and non-conformance records.
  • Prepare subcontract and purchase order scopes, solicit change pricing, and assist with change orders.
  • Use virtual design tools to support project coordination.
  • Manage closeout documentation, punch lists, as-built drawings, and warranty activities.

Required Experience

  • Industry-related degree required.
  • At least two years of construction project management experience preferred.
  • Industrial construction and LEAN experience preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred, or willingness to obtain it after hire.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn project-specific software.
  • Strong organization, communication, initiative, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
