Project Engineer

Job Summary

Ryan Companies is seeking a Project Engineer to support its Midwest team in Cedar Rapids. This early-career role develops construction field and office skills through hands-on project team support, including at least six months on a jobsite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and track RFIs, shop drawings, and project plan updates.
• Help verify field dimensions, coordinate vendor and subcontractor deliveries, and learn site logistics and safety procedures.
• Support permit inspections, punchlist tracking, and project schedule updates.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering or construction management.
• Knowledge of estimating, cost control, and material pricing.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to take responsibility.
• Willingness to travel and/or relocate as project needs require.
