Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Engineer II to support traveling industrial construction assignments, with a preference for power generation experience. The role supports project delivery from preconstruction through closeout and reports to the Project Manager.

Project Details

This traveling position supports industrial construction projects, particularly power generation work, at locations determined by company needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain construction drawings, project records, logs, submittals, and requests for information.
  • Coordinate material and equipment deliveries and assist with inspections, audits, and non-conformance tracking.
  • Prepare subcontract and purchase order scopes, support change order pricing, and monitor subcontractor changes.
  • Use virtual design tools for project coordination.
  • Support punch lists, as-built documentation, project closeout, and warranty activities.
  • Travel or relocate to assigned work locations as required.

Required Experience

  • Industry-related degree is required.
  • Two or more years of construction project management experience is preferred.
  • Industrial construction and power generation experience are preferred.
  • LEAN principles experience is desirable.
  • OSHA 30 is preferred, or candidates must be willing to obtain it after hire.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook is required, along with the ability to learn project-specific software.
