Construction Manager - Battery Storage - Mississippi

Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a field-based Construction Manager to help deliver utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System projects in partnership with project field leadership. The role coordinates construction execution, safety, quality, schedule, cost, and field resources.

Project Details

The position supports Battery Energy Storage System and substation construction, including utility-scale energy and electrical infrastructure work. Travel to project sites is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and craft resources needed for project execution.
• Support safety programs, Job Hazard Analyses, quality procedures, craft training, and certification initiatives.
• Monitor productivity, progress, quantities, schedule performance, and costs, and develop corrective actions when targets are at risk.
• Participate in constructability, risk, outage planning, and project proposal activities.
• Review timesheets, progress reports, payment requests, and potential back charges or out-of-scope work.
• Support field issue resolution, client and subcontractor relationships, commercial recovery, and employee development.

Required Experience

• At least 10 years of construction supervisory experience is required; 14 or more years and direct-hire BESS or substation experience are preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant field experience.
• OSHA Training is required.
• Experience with utility-scale battery storage, electrical infrastructure, substations, project controls, risk management, and construction management systems is preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish ability and outage-planning experience are preferred.
• Must be able to work outdoors, around hazardous equipment, and in confined or physically demanding construction environments, including shifts of up to 12 hours.
