Construction Operations Manager - Simple/Combined Cycle

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Construction Operations Manager to lead execution strategy and field delivery for EPC and service projects in advanced power generation. The role supports resource planning, project readiness, operational performance, and construction leadership across a traveling portfolio.

Project Details

Projects include conventional, simple-cycle, combined-cycle, and reciprocating internal combustion engine power facilities. The position supports major construction programs and requires travel to project locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop craft staffing, workforce, mobilization, and construction execution strategies.
• Lead readiness reviews, constructability efforts, and execution planning for projects and proposals.
• Monitor scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, productivity, and project performance.
• Coordinate with project managers, resource teams, clients, subcontractors, and alliance partners.
• Review corrective actions, change management, risk, materials, equipment, and cost requirements.
• Lead and develop direct reports while advancing continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 10-20 years of construction operations experience, with 10 or more years of EPC experience preferred.
• Experience supporting conventional, simple-cycle, and combined-cycle projects.
• Successful Site Manager experience on at least two major projects valued above $200 million is preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Ability to complete applicable background, drug-screen, and motor-vehicle-record checks.
