Job Summary
PCL Industrial Services is seeking an Electrical Construction Manager to provide senior field leadership for complex industrial projects from Phoenix, Arizona. The role owns safe, on-schedule, on-budget, high-quality execution of electrical scopes and coordinates closely with civil, structural, mechanical, controls, and commissioning teams.
Project Details
Projects may include hyperscale data centers, power generation and energy transition facilities, mining and mineral processing, semiconductor and advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, utility infrastructure, and water/wastewater treatment. Electrical work spans substations, distribution, switchgear, emergency power, generators, controls, cable systems, testing, commissioning, and turnover on projects valued in the hundreds of millions or more.
Responsibilities
- Lead field delivery across one major project or multiple concurrent industrial projects, managing safety, budget, quality, schedule, productivity, and profitability.
- Direct self-perform and subcontracted electrical work, including installation, testing, completion, punch-list resolution, and commissioning turnover.
- Drive constructability reviews, design coordination, procurement planning, prefabrication, energization sequencing, and critical-path protection.
- Lead electricians, foremen, field engineers, superintendents, and QA/QC personnel while mentoring future district leaders.
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, claims, and commercial risk with owners and trade partners.
- Support estimating, preconstruction, execution planning, client pursuits, and project meetings with owners, EPC firms, utilities, and consultants.
Required Experience
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in electrical or industrial engineering, construction management, engineering technology, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of progressive industrial construction experience leading electrical scopes on large, complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NETA, IEEE, ANSI, electrical completion, commissioning, and industrial electrical construction methods.
- Experience with data centers, power, mining, semiconductor, utility, water/wastewater, or heavy industrial projects, including greenfield, brownfield, phased, or staged delivery.
- Knowledge of OSHA 1910/1926 requirements, arc-flash and lockout/tagout programs, construction codes, labor agreements, and industrial project risk requirements.
- Estimating, preconstruction, or work-package planning experience is preferred, along with experience across lump sum, GMP, cost-plus, EPC, EPCM, IPD, progressive design-build, or CMAR delivery.
- Willingness to travel to or relocate near active project sites and experience working with union and open-shop labor environments.
