Job Summary
Black & Veatch is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects from its Tampa-area team. The role combines electrical design expertise, client consultation, construction support, and project leadership.
Project Details
Work supports municipal, utility, government, industrial, and environmental clients through the Integrated Water & Environmental business. Assignments may include water treatment and related water infrastructure systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical solutions for client facilities and coordinate technical needs with local utilities.
- Support construction inspections, resolve field electrical issues, and assist with equipment startup and testing.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, supplier submittal reviews, and coordination among clients and distributed design teams.
- Provide technical guidance on electrical power distribution and plant electrical systems.
- Build client relationships and contribute to electrical services business development.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent engineering experience.
- At least five years of related experience, preferably including electrical design, planning, construction services, and water/wastewater consulting.
- Experience with medium- and low-voltage distribution equipment, variable frequency drives, and standby diesel generators.
- Client-facing experience and an active engineering registration or licensure supporting engineer-of-record requirements.
- Power system analysis experience using SKM, ETAP, or comparable software is a plus.
