Electrical Field Engineer - Simple Cycle - Georgia

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Electrical Field Engineer to support construction execution on a simple-cycle power project in Newnan, Georgia. This field-based role provides technical guidance, documentation support, and coordination among engineering, construction, procurement, and subcontractor teams.

Project Details

The position supports industrial power construction in an EPC environment, including electrical discipline work, field coordination, technical document control, quality activities, and startup-related construction support.

Responsibilities

• Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contract requirements for field teams.
• Coordinate with engineering, superintendents, procurement, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendor representatives.
• Review contractor information requests, maintain daily site records, and manage construction markups and document control.
• Track discipline work against the project schedule and prepare quantity takeoffs, field estimates, and extra-work authorizations.
• Support inspections, testing verification, invoice review, and technical service representative timekeeping.
• Promote site safety, quality compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited U.S. program or an accepted foreign engineering program.
• Two to six years of construction management or design experience on similar facility projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, scheduling, cost control, contract administration, material takeoffs, and field estimates.
• Microsoft Office experience; familiarity with P6, Procure, Bluebeam, and Navisworks is preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Ability to work safely in active construction areas, including elevated, confined, uneven, and weather-exposed locations.
