Electrical Superintendent - Battery Storage

Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc., a Black & Veatch company, is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to direct field execution for battery energy storage construction. The role leads craft and subcontractor activities while coordinating safety, quality, schedule, productivity, and technical requirements.

Project Details

This position supports Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) electrical construction, including equipment installation, work packages, subcontractor execution, and schedule-driven field completion.

Responsibilities

• Track electrical construction progress, milestones, installed quantities, productivity, and costs against the CPM schedule.
• Lead foreman, craft, and subcontractor planning meetings and maintain three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, work plans, and technical issue resolution with construction management and project controls.
• Monitor punch-list completion, daily site records, timesheets, progress reports, and payment requests.
• Oversee work packages, equipment installation, job hazard analyses, safety compliance, and quality requirements.
• Identify schedule risks, corrective actions, backcharges, and out-of-scope work while supporting commercial recovery.
• Provide work direction, supervision, training, and performance support to foremen, general foremen, subcontractors, superintendents, and construction engineers.

Required Experience

• At least five years of construction field leadership experience on comparable projects.
• Electrical superintendent experience on battery storage and substation projects is preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification and a valid driver's license are required.
• Knowledge of construction safety, constructability, cost and labor productivity systems, EPC and subcontract terms, scheduling, risk management, and conflict resolution is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at height, climb structural systems and ladders, and perform physically demanding outdoor work in changing weather conditions.
