Job Summary
Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead multi-discipline engineering scopes across industrial markets including power, mineral processing, energy transition, and biomanufacturing. The role spans project development, Pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC delivery while managing client relationships and internal engineering teams.
Project Details
Projects span industrial markets such as Food & Beverage, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Pulp and Paper, Steel & Aluminum, and Industrial Energy and Utilities. Scope ranges from feasibility studies through Pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed design, executed by a multi-discipline team of process, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, civil, and geotechnical engineers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee project execution plans covering deliverables, schedule, budget, manpower, and quality management.
- Lead project team meetings and provide regular status reporting to Kiewit management and clients.
- Monitor and control project expenditures and progress against the plan, taking corrective action as needed.
- Manage contract change notices and coordinate client billings with the business management team.
- Lead pursuit and proposal efforts including scope definition, engineering estimates, organizational charts, and schedules.
- Coordinate Pre-FEED to FEED and FEED to EPC scope transitions.
- Engage clients to understand operational priorities and ensure their implementation through design.
- Identify and mitigate project risks in collaboration with clients.
- Develop future project opportunities during and after project execution.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in an engineering organization.
- 5+ years of engineering design or management experience in industrial markets preferred.
- 5+ years in a consulting role preferred.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and client communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities across single large projects or several smaller ones.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and experienced coaching and developing team members.
Compensation and Benefits
$179,000–$187,000/year base salary. Comprehensive benefits package including top-tier medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents, life insurance, disability, retirement plans with matching contributions, and generous paid time off.
