Engineering Project Manager - Kiewit Power Engineering

Job Summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead internal design teams within its Engineering & Consulting Services group. The role partners with engineering, construction, clients, and permitting agencies to deliver power and infrastructure projects from proposal through construction support.

Project Details

The Power district delivers engineering and consulting services for gas-fired generation, power delivery, environmental retrofits, renewable energy, emerging technologies, and water/wastewater projects throughout North America. The position is based in Lenexa, Kansas, with flexible work opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal design teams, staffing plans, engineering budgets, schedules, and project performance.
• Coordinate technical work across engineering disciplines and connect design leadership with construction teams.
• Communicate project status, design requirements, risks, and mitigation plans to clients, permitting agencies, and Kiewit leadership.
• Support proposals, estimates, business development, construction priorities, and design-related issue resolution.
• Mentor technical personnel and capture execution best practices.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• At least seven years of project management experience.
• Strong organization, communication, time management, attention to detail, and team leadership capabilities.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, follow safety requirements, and work overtime or weekends when needed.
