Field Engineer 2- Self Perform, Advanced Facilities Group

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Field Engineer 2 to support self-perform construction work within its Advanced Facilities Group. The role combines hands-on craft work, working-foreman supervision, field planning, and coordination with project teams on advanced industrial projects.

Project Details

The Advanced Facilities Group delivers industrial and manufacturing, data center, semiconductor, mission-critical, and other advanced facilities projects. This position supports crew-based self-perform operations and routine project activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned construction work while working as part of a crew.
• Plan crew activities, manage daily task plans, maintain lookahead schedules, and report progress.
• Support safety planning, training, toolbox talks, inspections, and compliance activities.
• Assist with quality control, punch lists, inspections, documentation, cost tracking, equipment analysis, and productivity improvements.
• Coordinate with the superintendent, foremen, contractors, subcontractors, and project support teams.
• Participate in work planning, sequencing, Lean construction, and coordination of multiple crafts.

Required Experience

• At least 2 years of construction experience required.
• Up to 2 years of construction supervision experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, self-perform work, labor productivity, crane flagging and rigging, Lean practices, and project technology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to communicate, organize work, build relationships, and collaborate effectively.
