Field Layout Engineer 2 - Constrution Surveyor

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Field Layout Engineer 2 to independently perform routine and complex construction layout and surveying work while supporting project quality, safety, planning, and coordination efforts.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain project control points, benchmarks, building corners, reference lines, and floor elevations.
• Complete layout for structural, roadway, utility, concrete, wall, column, and exterior building elements.
• Check structural alignment, slab elevations, concrete placement, and field conditions against contract documents.
• Perform as-built surveys, identify conflicts, calculate material quantities, and maintain project records.
• Coordinate drawing information, support certified survey control, and help resolve discrepancies between shop and contract drawings.
• Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment while communicating layout requirements to project teams and trade partners.
• Mentor less experienced layout personnel and report progress to project leadership.

Required Experience

• At least five years of construction layout experience.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, Lean construction principles, and basic Microsoft Office.
• Ability to complete non-routine layout and control work independently.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
