Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a solar foreman in Mulberry, Florida, to supervise photovoltaic construction crews and deliver safe, compliant, and productive field operations.

Project Details

The role supports solar photovoltaic construction, including electrical and civil work for ground- or roof-mounted systems. Work takes place in an active construction environment with outdoor exposure, elevated work, hazardous equipment, and variable weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Direct crew planning, layout, installation, testing, repair, and daily field execution.
• Lead toolbox meetings, pre-job safety planning, daily safety assessments, and hazard corrections.
• Create short-term schedules, establish crew goals, track quantities and labor coding, and complete timecards.
• Coordinate tools, materials, equipment, work packages, drawings, specifications, and assigned schedules.
• Inspect installations and crew work for quality and compliance, correcting deficiencies as needed.
• Train, coach, and evaluate craft workers while reporting incidents, near misses, and field conditions.
• Verify equipment inspections, safe operation, maintenance, and crew adherence to stop-work authority.

Required Experience

• Working experience as a solar technician with strong knowledge of photovoltaic system assembly, installation, or maintenance.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Ability to understand project plans, specifications, site maps, schedules, and construction work packages.
• Must be at least 18 years old, provide required tools, and complete applicable pre-employment screening.
• Preferred or listed credentials include NCCER Solar Photovoltaic Installer, NCCER Electrician, NCCER Concrete Finishing, and NCCER Carpenter.
• Must be able to perform strenuous outdoor work, lift up to 52 pounds, climb ladders and scaffolds, and work extended shifts in varying temperatures.
