Job Summary

Barton Malow Builders is seeking a senior General Superintendent and Director of Field Operations to guide field delivery and regional growth for its Southeast healthcare market. The role provides operational leadership, strategic support, safety oversight, and mentorship across major healthcare work.

Project Details

The position supports large, complex healthcare projects valued at $500 million or more across Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida.

Responsibilities

• Direct field execution, project build strategy, site logistics, phasing, quality, and schedule performance.
• Lead and mentor project superintendents while coordinating subcontractors, trades, owners, designers, permits, inspections, and commissioning activities.
• Drive jobsite safety compliance, labor harmony, productivity, and resolution of field issues.
• Support estimating, project pursuits, bid development, subcontractor scope reviews, forecasting, and cost-control efforts.
• Represent field operations in project meetings and develop future superintendents through coaching and lessons learned.

Required Experience

• At least 15 years of healthcare construction experience on large, complex projects.
• Experience leading healthcare projects valued at $500 million or more.
• At least 8 years supervising project teams and trades.
• Southeast regional experience, contractor knowledge, and strong negotiation skills.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Southeast region.
