General Superintendent - Pipe - Heavy Civil

Job Summary

Garney is seeking a General Superintendent to lead field operations and help build its Mission Critical construction business. This role is based in Rayville, Louisiana, and requires extensive leadership across large-scale utility, commercial, industrial, and data center work.

Project Details

Projects include underground utility and heavy civil scopes such as water transmission, sanitary sewer, force main, storm drainage, fire water, process piping, and data center infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Direct field operations, manpower, equipment, logistics, production, and multiple work fronts.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop superintendents, foremen, and craft professionals.
• Establish execution standards, operational systems, workforce programs, and scheduling practices.
• Lead pull planning, phase planning, schedule recovery, critical path management, and look-ahead planning.
• Coordinate owners, general contractors, subcontractors, trade partners, commissioning teams, and internal operations groups.
• Help develop a scalable organization and construction strategy for long-term Mission Critical growth.

Required Experience

• At least 15 years of progressive construction field leadership experience, including 7 or more years as a Senior or General Superintendent.
• Extensive underground utility experience, including excavation, trench safety, shoring, dewatering, testing, commissioning, and utility sequencing.
• Experience leading large commercial, industrial, manufacturing, Mission Critical, or data center projects.
• Proficiency with CPM scheduling, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or comparable platforms.
• Experience managing large field organizations and complex, resource-loaded construction schedules.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Strong collaboration, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills, with willingness to travel.
