Graduate Engineer, Structural Substation (Texas)

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an entry-level structural engineer to support substation infrastructure projects in Texas. The role is designed for recent engineering graduates and offers exposure to technical delivery, project coordination, quality practices, and professional development.

Project Details

The position supports structural engineering work for substation and other critical infrastructure assignments. Selected candidates will work in or relocate to Austin, College Station, Dallas, or Houston, Texas, with hybrid or flexible work options potentially available after the first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Prepare basic engineering calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and limited-scope studies.
• Research equipment and material options and develop routine recommendations.
• Collect, organize, and manage engineering data.
• Apply applicable design standards, engineering codes, company procedures, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with project teams, share technical information, and support client or business development activities when needed.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Basic understanding of engineering design principles, applicable standards, construction practices, and constructability.
• Ability to complete applicable pre-employment screening and onboarding requirements.
• Strong learning, problem-solving, written communication, listening, and results-oriented skills.
