Harriman Electrical Superintendent

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to lead field execution for an industrial construction project in Harriman, Tennessee. This full-time staff role directs craft, subcontractor, schedule, safety, quality, and productivity activities throughout project delivery.

Project Details

The assignment supports a combined-cycle power project and requires mobilization to the site for the duration of the project. Union or union-management experience and combined-cycle electrical superintendent experience are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical craft supervisors, foremen, direct-hire crews, subcontractors, and field engineering.
• Monitor construction progress, productivity, costs, installed quantities, and compliance with the CPM schedule.
• Lead daily, weekly, and monthly planning meetings and maintain three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Confirm that materials, labor, equipment, and other resources are available to support planned work.
• Resolve drawing, technical, schedule, quality, safety, and subcontractor issues.
• Administer work packages and equipment installation, including job hazard analyses for major erection activities.
• Track punch-list completion, daily site records, timesheets, quantity reports, payment requests, and supplier service logs.
• Identify out-of-scope work and potential backcharges, support commercial recovery, and coordinate information requests.
• Provide work direction, training, development, and performance management for assigned personnel.

Required Experience

• At least five years of construction field leadership experience on equivalent projects.
• OSHA 10 certification and a valid driver's license.
• Construction management or engineering degree preferred.
• Experience with cost control, scheduling, contract administration, labor relations, productivity systems, risk management, and construction safety is preferred.
• Ability to work in demanding outdoor and industrial environments, including climbing, confined spaces, uneven terrain, and temperatures ranging from below 32°F to above 90°F.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work shifts of up to 12 hours.
