Lake Cormorant Civil Superintendent Solar Mississippi

Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc., a Black & Veatch company, is seeking a Civil Superintendent to coordinate field supervision and craft performance on a solar construction project in Lake Cormorant, Mississippi. This employee-owner role focuses on safe, quality execution while meeting schedule and productivity commitments.

Project Details

Support civil and solar construction activities, including assigned work packages, equipment installation, subcontractor coordination, and commodity installation tracking.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction progress, productivity, costs, quality, and compliance with the CPM schedule.
• Prepare and manage three-week look-ahead schedules, corrective action plans, daily logs, and punch-list completion.
• Coordinate foremen, subcontractors, construction engineers, and other discipline superintendents.
• Verify that labor, materials, equipment, and other resources are available for planned work.
• Review time records, installed quantities, progress payment requests, and supplier technical-service logs.
• Support work packages, contractor information requests, extra-work authorizations, backcharge identification, and commercial recovery.
• Prepare job hazard analyses for major erection packages and reinforce safety and quality requirements.
• Provide work direction, training, development, and performance oversight for assigned personnel.

Required Experience

• At least one year of experience on similar projects in an assistant superintendent role or comparable relevant experience.
• Solar, civil, self-perform/direct-hire construction, budget and cost control, scheduling, contract administration, and construction safety knowledge are preferred.
• A degree in construction management or engineering and related cost-control, scheduling, and contract-administration training are preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning, problem-solving, conflict-management, risk-assessment, and computer skills are preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work outdoors in varying weather, climb ladders and scaffolds, and perform physically demanding work for shifts of up to 12 hours.
