Lead Electrical Superintendent - Simple/Combined Cycle

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Lead Electrical Superintendent to direct field electrical execution for simple-cycle and combined-cycle power generation projects in Claude, Texas. This role leads craft, subcontractor, engineering, and field supervision teams while supporting safe, coordinated, and schedule-driven construction.

Project Details

Electrical scopes include gas and steam turbine systems, HRSG and balance-of-plant equipment, switchyards, power distribution, grounding, raceway and cable systems, lighting, heat trace, terminations, testing support, turnover, and commissioning readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical installation, work packaging, sequencing, and daily field coordination.
• Manage foremen, general foremen, discipline supervision, direct-hire craft, subcontractors, and field engineers.
• Track CPM milestones, installed quantities, productivity, costs, turnover priorities, and punch-list completion.
• Develop look-ahead schedules and resolve drawing, material, labor, access, quality, safety, and coordination constraints.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, piping, instrumentation and controls, startup, commissioning, project controls, and project management teams.
• Support hazard analyses, technical inquiries, work authorizations, commercial documentation, and site records.
• Coach and mentor field leaders while serving as the Construction Manager's representative when assigned.

Required Experience

• At least 8 years of experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager on equivalent projects.
• Experience leading electrical work on power generation, industrial, or heavy construction projects.
• Experience with simple-cycle or combined-cycle plant construction, electrical turnover, testing support, and commissioning preparation.
• Knowledge of electrical construction sequencing, productivity and cost tracking, subcontract administration, and applicable labor or jurisdictional issues.
• Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related technical degree is preferred; equivalent field leadership experience may be considered.
• OSHA 10 certification and a valid driver's license required.
