MEP Engineer 3 - Commercial Construction

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking an MEP Engineer 3 in Nashville to support increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction work on commercial projects. The role contributes to estimating, preconstruction, construction quality, commissioning, and process improvement while mentoring less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical and electrical estimates, scopes, systems analyses, value engineering recommendations, and bid evaluations.
• Coordinate system sequencing and provide schedule-related input during project execution.
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings for constructability, quality, and contract compliance.
• Perform field inspections and support quality control activities.
• Develop commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, and functional testing procedures; track deficiencies through completion.
• Mentor junior colleagues and help improve MEP tools, processes, and work products.
• Support the company’s safety, quality, inclusion, and collaboration objectives.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Five or more years of construction or engineering experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills and intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Knowledge of construction management methods and the ability to collaborate with internal and external project partners.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license required.
