Job Summary

Barton Malow is hiring an on-site MEP Project Engineer to support a mission critical construction project near Philadelphia. This development role works under the MEP Project Manager and offers progression toward Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager responsibilities.

Project Details

The position supports mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on a mission critical jobsite. Commissioning and integrated systems testing may require coverage during nights or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Administer MEP submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, document control, and revision tracking.
• Review system documentation against one-line and riser diagrams, equipment schedules, and sequences of operation.
• Coordinate clash resolution with modelers, subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners.
• Compile commissioning materials such as pre-functional checklists, test scripts, startup reports, and issue logs, driving outstanding items to closure.
• Monitor long-lead equipment procurement, fabrication, factory testing, and delivery milestones.
• Maintain quality records, inspection and testing documentation, change support, cost tracking, meeting records, and monthly MEP reporting.
• Assist with closeout materials, including operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, training records, and as-built documentation.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent field experience.
• Two to five years supporting mechanical and electrical construction scope; mission critical experience is preferred.
• Ability to interpret one-line diagrams, riser diagrams, equipment schedules, and system operation sequences.
• Experience supporting commissioning and startup documentation, including checklists, test scripts, and issue logs.
• Working knowledge of construction management platforms, document control systems, drawing markup tools, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organization, communication, follow-through, and ownership in an active construction environment.
