Mid-level Structural Engineer - Kiewit Power Engineering

Job Summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a mid-level structural design engineer for its Omaha-based Power Delivery team. The role supports structural engineering from concept development through construction, with a focus on safe, practical, and cost-effective solutions.

Project Details

Projects include electrical substations and transmission lines delivered through engineering-only and EPC engagements across the power delivery market.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review structural calculations, designs, drawings, specifications, schedules, and budgets.
• Design foundations and steel structures using engineering software and applicable industry standards.
• Coordinate structural matters with internal disciplines, construction teams, vendors, fabricators, owners, and other project partners.
• Support contract compliance, workflow improvements, project delivery, and department performance objectives.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least two years of structural design experience in power or industrial work is preferred.
• Experience with LPILE, MathCAD, SAP2000, Risa3D, MFAD, Shaft, or spMats is preferred.
• Working knowledge of AISC, ACI 318, ASCE 7, ASCE 113, and IBC standards.
• Eligibility to take the FE examination or obtain EIT certification, strong communication skills, and authorization to work in the United States.
