Piping Superintendent - Simple Cycle - Oklahoma

Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc., a Black & Veatch company, is seeking a Piping Superintendent for a simple-cycle power construction assignment in Oklahoma. This field-based role directs piping supervision, craft labor, subcontractors, and construction engineering activities while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and productivity expectations.

Project Details

The assignment supports simple-cycle construction, including piping installation, equipment work packages, commodity tracking, subcontractor coordination, and schedule execution in an industrial construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction progress, productivity, costs, quantities, and compliance with the CPM schedule.
• Coordinate foremen, general foremen, subcontractors, construction engineers, and other discipline superintendents.
• Develop three-week look-ahead schedules, corrective action plans, work plans, and punch-list tracking.
• Confirm that labor, materials, equipment, and other resources are available to support planned work.
• Lead planning meetings, maintain daily site records, and review time sheets, quantity reports, and progress payment requests.
• Administer work packages and equipment installation while identifying scope issues, potential backcharges, and commercial recovery opportunities.
• Prepare or support job hazard analyses, contractor information requests, extra-work authorizations, and subcontract administration.
• Provide work direction, training, development, and performance management for assigned personnel.

Required Experience

• At least 8 years of experience as a superintendent or construction manager on comparable projects.
• Piping construction experience and simple-cycle or combined-cycle construction experience are preferred.
• Construction management or engineering education and training in cost control, scheduling, construction management, or contract administration are preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification and a valid driver's license are required.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, planning, cost-control, safety, risk-management, and subcontract administration skills are preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights and in confined areas, climb ladders or scaffolds, and perform extended physical work in changing weather conditions.
