Project Director - Water Business

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Director to lead water business growth, client development, project oversight, and team leadership in the Texas market.

Project Details

The role supports water and wastewater infrastructure programs for municipalities, utilities, and government clients, including engineering, consulting, procurement, and construction services.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Develop business growth strategies, identify opportunities, and pursue new clients.
• Oversee projects and Engineering Managers across water-related services.
• Lead marketing, proposals, client presentations, budgeting, contracting, and project staffing.
• Manage project teams and contribute to market strategy, client workshops, and industry activities.
• Represent the company with clients and community organizations while meeting new business objectives.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 20+ years of business development and project management experience, including water and wastewater technical engineering.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater markets, business growth, contracts, pricing, budgets, and financial metrics.
• Strong sales, negotiation, presentation, communication, strategic thinking, and leadership abilities.

Compensation and Benefits

The position is full-time and relocation eligible, with hybrid or flexible work options potentially available after the first 90 days.
