Job Summary
Kiewit’s Mass. Electric Construction Company is seeking a mid-level Project Engineer 3 to support complex industrial electrical construction projects from its Irvine, California or Vancouver, Washington office. The position coordinates project engineering, controls, documentation, contracts, materials, and communication while supporting project leadership.
Project Details
The MEC Industrial District delivers large-scale electrical construction and maintenance work, including power and energy, renewable energy, commercial and federal facilities, bridges, special systems, and water-related infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Interpret contract documents and resolve design, constructability, and field coordination issues.
- Manage document control, submittals, project logs, design updates, and formal project communications.
- Support schedules, cost projections, cash-flow forecasting, contract administration, change evaluation, and closeout activities.
- Coordinate scopes of work, subcontracts, vendor purchase orders, and contract execution plans.
- Provide technical support to field operations and promote company safety and environmental programs.
- Lead and support project staff, including direct reports and technical or administrative team members.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction or a related field, or equivalent project or field engineering experience and education.
- At least 7 years of construction or engineering experience.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, planning, organization, delegation, teaching, and mentoring abilities.
- Experience with project engineering functions and management systems such as job cost, materials control, estimating, payables and receivables, and subcontracts.
- Ability to meet deadlines, work safely, maintain reliable attendance, and work overtime or weekends when required.
Compensation and Benefits
Base compensation is $161,000-$168,000 per year. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement matching, and paid time off.
