Project Engineer

Job Summary

PCL Construction is seeking a Project Engineer for its Civil West team in Phoenix. This role supports project delivery through contract administration, field coordination, documentation, quality, and schedule management. The position is intended for candidates authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity takeoffs and surveys to support progress reporting, contract administration, and change management.
• Administer subcontracted scopes by defining requirements, responding to questions, and tracking performance.
• Support project startup and help interpret contract obligations for assigned scopes.
• Review subcontractor submittals for scope, design, and interdisciplinary coordination before design-team review.
• Assist with design-team inspections, deficiency tracking, and systems commissioning sign-off.
• Identify potential risks and complete additional project-support duties as needed.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Four to six years of operational construction experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction equipment, methods, drawings, specifications, materials, standards, HSE, and quality practices.
• Ability to apply fundamental engineering and problem-solving methods to construction issues.
• Strong communication, planning, organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Experience creating and leading comprehensive schedules and administering subcontracts and contract documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to adopt internal systems and new technology.
